Searching everything from the phone app

One search box for people, companies, deals, calls, texts, voicemails, tickets, tasks, proposals, work items and knowledge.

The magnifying glass at the top of every screen in the Smoo AI phone app searches everything you can open: contacts, companies, deals, tasks, tickets, proposals, work items, knowledge documents, chat conversations, calls, texts and voicemails. That includes what was said on a call, the words of a voicemail, and the text of a message.

Results come back grouped by type, with the matching words highlighted, and the most relevant and most recent first. Tap one to open exactly that record. A call opens with its transcript scrolled to the line that matched.

How to

  1. 1

Tap the magnifying glass and start typing.

Two characters are enough. Each word matches the start of a word, so "bre roo" finds "Brent" and "roof".

  2. 2

Type part of a phone number to find the contact, call, voicemail or text thread with that number.

  3. 3

Use the chips under the search box to narrow to one type, such as Calls.

  4. 4

Before you type, pick from your recent searches and recently opened items.

These are kept on your phone, so they also work offline. Clear them from the same screen.

If something goes wrong

A type is missing from the chips, or a record you know exists does not show up.
Search only shows what your role can open. Calls, texts and voicemails need the phone permissions, call transcripts need permission to read recordings and transcripts, and texts only show threads assigned to you, your ring groups, or nobody. An admin can change your role under Settings → Roles & Permissions.
Search shows only recent items.
Your phone is offline. Recent searches and recently opened items still work; full search comes back when you reconnect.
