Documents uploaded here can be attached to any of your agents. This is the single most load-bearing setup step in the product.
Uploading and indexing are two different things. A file sits in storage until it is processed; only then is it searchable.
How to

Upload PDFs, Word documents, text or Markdown.

Wait for processing to finish before testing an agent against it.

Attach the document to the agents that should use it.

Search the knowledge base yourself to check the agent will find what you expect.
Ask Smooth Operator
- “Search my knowledge base for our refund policy”
- “What do we say about cancellations?”
If something goes wrong
- A document is uploaded but never cited.
- Check it finished processing, and that it is attached to the agent you are testing.
- A file dropped into Smooth Operator is not searchable.
- Attachments are stored, not indexed, until you ask the agent to ingest them. Say "index that document".
