Observability is for your own software, not for Smoo. Send it telemetry and it answers "is anything broken", "what is slow", and "what changed".
Asking Smooth Operator by symptom is usually faster than picking a view — you rarely know which service to open.
How to

Send telemetry using the SDK for your language.

Start at Overview, then follow an error to its traces and logs.

Set up monitors so problems find you.
Ask Smooth Operator
- “Is anything down right now?”
- “What is erroring today?”
- “Which services are slow?”
- “Show me traces over 2 seconds”
If something goes wrong
- Traces are empty while logs and metrics work.
- Initialising OpenTelemetry does not by itself produce spans, and request-level spans are often emitted below your log level. Check something is actually creating spans.
- Browser telemetry never arrives.
- The browser token is separate from the server one. A 401 on ingest means the token, not the code.
